• Identify potential threats

• Be aware of your surroundings no matter where you are

• Know where you are vulnerable

• A threat knows your vulnerabilities

• Implement security measures

• Identified threats and vulnerabilities and implementation of security measures will

• make you a hard target for a threat
   

CHURCH SECURITY RESPONSE AND ASSESSMENT: 
 

• Evaluate your church’s physical security

• Access points, cameras, alarms child drop off and pick up protocols

• Develop a security plan

• Know how to respond to medical emergencies and violent incidents

• Know roles and responsibilities of security personnel, church staff and volunteers

• Train and educate

• All personnel responsible for the safety and security of a church congregation must train regularly to be proficient

SCHOOL RESPONSE PROTOCOL:

• We must understand the why and the how

• Communication is critical for students, teachers and parents when there is an active threat at or near your school

• Staff and student training

• To be effective, school response and protocol must be practiced regularly
